Kirk Jensen is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. in Billings, Montana. He advises the company’s board of directors and senior business leaders on a wide variety of legal issues relating to consumer financial services law, banking law, and other legal matters. Prior to joining First Interstate, he was a founding partner with BuckleySandler LLP in Washington, DC, where he counseled clients on compliance with consumer financial services laws, and represented banks and other financial services companies in litigation and enforcement actions brought by federal and state agencies, including the CFPB, DOJ, and FTC. Prior to joining BuckleySandler, he was a partner with Buckley Kolar LLP in Washington, DC.

Kirk has held leadership positions in the American Bar Association’s Consumer Financial Services Committee and the Real Estate Litigation Committee. He is a graduate of Duke University School of Law, where he was a J. Paul Coie Scholar and member of the Duke Law Journal, and he received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He was a law clerk for Chief Judge Deanell Reece Tacha of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
