David S. Willenzik was Special Counsel to Jones Walker LLP. Prior to joining Jones Walker, Mr.
Willenzik was a senior partner at the New Orleans based McGlinchey Stafford firm and was head of the
firm’s business law group and the founder of the firm’s national banking and financial services
practice.
Mr. Willenzik is nationally known in the areas of banking, consumer financial services law and
regulation, litigation defense, commercial finance/secured lending, and equipment leasing,
with over 40 years of experience. He is the author of numerous pro-banking and financial services
laws in his home state and elsewhere, and led the effort to first enact UCC Article 9 in Louisiana. Mr.
Willenzik is a graduate of the University of Illinois and Louisiana State University Law School, and is a
recipient of the prestigious Homer Kripke Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the American
College of Commercial Finance Attorneys. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Willenzik was an
adjunct professor of law at the LSU Law School, and taught at Tulane Law School.
