Mr. Shevin is a member of Sirote & Permutt's Business and Financial Services Division. His practice also includes real estate, credit insurance and trade association law. As corporate counsel for financial institutions and business corporation clients, Shevin advises clients with respect to regulatory matters and business and industry concerns. He advises numerous local, regional and national real estate, finance and consumer credit clients with respect to federal and state consumer credit protection laws, rules and regulations.

Mr. Shevin is the General Counsel to the Alabama Lenders Association and the Modern Financial Services Association, trade associations comprised of regulated Alabama licensees. He incorporated The BorrowSmart Public Education Foundation, a Section 501(c)(3) foundation, that addressed the needs of America's housing counselors. Shevin has testified on behalf of industry before various state and federal agency and legislative bodies including the Departments of Housing and Urban Development, and Treasury.

Mr. Shevin has authored many articles on the topics of consumer and real estate finance. He also writes frequently for various trade association newsletters and trade magazines.
